CNIB is a foundation and charitable not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting Canadians who are blind or living with vision loss and providing them with support information. They deliver innovative programs and powerful advocacy that empower people impacted by blindness to live their dreams and tear down barriers to inclusion.
CNIB engaged Rova Unify to enable two spaces with video conferencing technology to host town halls for operations staff and senior management, including their Board of Directors. They wanted Rova Unify to create interactive and easy to use multi-platform enabled video conferencing meeting rooms to connect their people as well as provide a simple, portable solution.
The installation process and requirements for this job were slightly more complex and unique when factoring in the specific sensitivities within the client environment. Rova Unify took the time to understand the client site, making multiple site visits when necessary, and working tediously to ensure the correct precautions were taken into consideration when proposing room solutions. Rova Unify needed to install the solution in the boardroom area where CNIB had already placed their new mural, so it was also important for them to coordinate with CNIB’s general contractor to avoid damaging the mural.
Rova Unify provided a full-service installation for a large boardroom and a large open space. The equipment selected included the Logitech Rally Plus video conferencing system and the Huddly L1 Conferencing System to outfit the two rooms at CNIB. Senior management wanted both Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings to be seamlessly accessed, so Rova Unify installed a USB switch to easily toggle between both platforms. Rova Unify also provided a mobile cart solution for the operations centre to better facilitate hosting town halls as needed. The portability made it easy to use and to connect quickly to an external system.
The solution provided was highly customizable. Rova Unify installed microphones in the ceiling for cable management and to avoid tripping hazards. We also installed touch panels on the table off to the side so as not to intrude on the clean table aesthetic of the boardroom.
